KBRA Releases Market Consumer Loan Indices for March 2022

NEW YORK, April 01, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–KBRA publishes its consumer loan market indices for the month of March.

March installment reports continued to show mixed credit readings in the consumer loan sector of the market. We continue to expect a general weakening of credit performance in both indices through 2022 as inflationary pressures weigh on consumer balance sheets. Additionally, we are monitoring the impact of recent geopolitical events and Federal Reserve monetary policy on the global economy and unemployment. However, tight labor markets, excess savings built up during the pandemic, and the approaching tax refund season should help thwart any significant deterioration in near-term credit.
