This marks the eighth consecutive year of double-digit retail instant ticket sales growth for the Lottery. This astonishing increase has helped the Michigan Lottery become the fastest growing US lottery over the past 10 years, with a growth rate of 231% and more than double the rate of the US average over the same period!

The lottery has launched a pilot program of illuminated menu boards (“LMBs”) from Schafer Systems, a Pollard Banknote company. The LMBs feature two vertical lights that reveal tickets and inserts, while ticket number clips make it easy to identify games. LMBs have been extremely effective in driving instant ticket sales, helping to increase participating retailers’ sales by 32.5% in the quarter of their introduction compared to the same quarter a year earlier. Since then, the Lottery has installed over 1,300 LMBs and ordered over 200 more to improve instant ticket visibility, increase visibility and boost in-store sales.
