Pollard Banknote Welcomes Industry Leader May Scheve Reardon as Vice President of Government Relations

WINNIPEG, MB, July 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (“Pollard Banknote”) is very pleased to announce that May Scheve Reardon will join Pollard Banknote as Vice President, Government Relations, responsible for Government Relations and Legislative Affairs. Prior to joining Pollard Banknote, Ms. Reardon served as the Missouri Lottery Director for 13 years, where she provided exceptional leadership both for the lottery and within the lottery industry. In 2019, she was inducted into the Public Gaming Research Institute (“PGRI”) Lottery Industry Hall of Fame in recognition of her outstanding contributions.

As director of the Missouri Lottery, Ms. Reardon increased the lottery’s annual contributions to public education by $250 million to end $400 million and launched many new initiatives, including the introduction of cashless sales for the lottery, the creation of a very successful Million Dollar Retailer Club, and new measures to combat illegal gambling in the state.

Ms. Reardon has also held numerous other industry leadership positions, including as President of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (“NASPL”) and the Multi-State Lottery Association (“MUSL”). ), which operates Powerball on behalf of its member lotteries. In these roles, his impressive achievements include:

  • Help start industry-wide API initiative to expand lottery distribution, including future online lottery sales.
  • Work to improve industry relations with the National Convenience Stores Association and the National Gaming Association.
  • Lead national government relations efforts to protect states’ rights to use the Internet for lottery sales.
  • Lead efforts to develop and implement new strategic plans for NASPL and MUSL that have helped focus the industry on common priorities that will help preserve the integrity of the lottery and increase profits for beneficiaries now and the future.

Prior to entering the lottery industry, Ms. Reardon held a leadership position with the Joint Gaming and Betting Committee and the Ways and Means Committee of the Missouri House of Representatives from 1990 to 2002. She was the youngest woman elected to the Missouri General Assembly and went on to serve as Missouri State Representative for 12 years, chairwoman of the Democratic Party for four years, then became the first wife to run the Missouri Lottery.
